Monday, July 15

  • 6:32 a.m., Motor vehicle accident was reported along County Highway 37, Detroit Lakes, when a vehicle drove off the road. Airbags were deployed. A male, 18, from Laporte, Minnesota, stated he was OK, but was transported to Essentia, according to the incident report.
  • 8:55 a.m., Plastic bag was found in the back of a Detroit Lakes Police Department squad car. The item was documented and slated to be properly disposed of.
  • 9:02 a.m., Property damage was reported at a business along Summit Avenue, Detroit Lakes, when a canopy had been damaged.
  • 11:40 a.m., Medical emergency was reported at a golf course along Highway 10, Frazee. A 43-year-old male, possibly having a stroke, was transported by air to the hospital for emergency care.
  • 11:49 a.m., Theft was reported when fishing rods and reels were stolen from the back of a vehicle that was parked at a residence along Long Lake Road, Detroit Lakes.
  • 1:18 p.m., Suspicious activity was reported along U.S. Highway 10, Detroit Lakes, when a panhandler was seen yelling at people in vehicles. He was reportedly angry that some passing by suggested that he get a job.
  • 1:57 p.m., Vandalism was reported at a day care business along Main Avenue, Frazee. Older kids were playing on playground equipment without permission and broke a swing.
  • 3:53 p.m., Property damage to a mailbox was reported at a residence along County Highway 56, Frazee.
  • 5:52 p.m., Officer saw a person throw a plastic bottle in brush along the Otter Tail River. The officer asked the person to retrieve their litter. The person complied.

Tuesday, July 16

  • 8:41 a.m., Cattle from a neighboring property found their way onto a residence along Beseau Lake Road, Lake Park, and proceeded to cause extensive damage to the lawn.
  • 9:49 a.m., Motor vehicle accident was reported near the intersection of U.S. Highway 10 and Fourth Street, Audubon. The two-vehicle crash resulted in two people being transported to the hospital: a female, 28, from Hawley, Minnesota, and a male, 66, from Newport, Minnesota. No information on the severity of the injuries was provided in the incident report.
  • 12:52 p.m., Warrant arrest was made at a residence along Beaver Trail, Ogema, of a 27-year-old female.
  • 1:35 p.m., Warrant arrest of a 37-year-old female from Detroit Lakes was conducted at a business along Washington Avenue, Detroit Lakes.
  • 6:12 p.m., Dog bit a 74-year-old female from Detroit Lakes who was riding a bicycle and punctured her skin. The bite occurred along northwest Pickerel Lake Road, Detroit Lakes. The owner of the dog was located.
  • 9:24 p.m., Becker County Sheriff’s Office boat and water crew were asked to place a buoy near a large rock under the water surface in Bass Lake. It was noted the rock was located about 30 feet from shore.

Wednesday, July 17

  • 7:29 a.m., Two vehicles collided along U.S. Highway 10, resulting in an injury. The Minnesota State Patrol website stated that a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado and 2018 Freightliner Semi were both traveling eastbound on Highway 10. The two vehicles collided near the intersection of Second Street and Highway 10 in Lake Park. David John Wosick, 61, of Fargo, was driving the pickup truck and wearing his seatbelt. His airbag did not deploy. The incident report stated emergency air transport was deployed. The State Trooper report stated Wosick was transported to Sanford Health in Fargo and had sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The semi driver, Robby Jay Sahr, 54, of Kindred, North Dakota, was also wearing his seatbelt and did not have his airbag deployed. The pavement was dry and alcohol is not believed to have been a factor.
  • 9:01 a.m., Burglary was reported at a residence along Rock Rice Road, Rochert. It appeared there was an attempted break-in to a residence on the property and damage had been done to a vehicle door.
  • 11:43 a.m., Medical call was made near Pine Point School, Ponsford, when a person was seen bleeding from the head in a parking lot. A tire reportedly came off of a bicycle and the person fell. The individual, who was not identified in the incident log, was taken to Essentia Health.
  • 12:55 p.m., Male, 20, from Detroit Lakes, was arrested on an outstanding warrant at the Becker County Courthouse.
  • 2:01 p.m., Disturbance was reported at a business along Main Avenue, Frazee. A 63-year-old male from Detroit Lakes was charged with disorderly conduct and pending fifth-degree assault charges. The victim was an adult female from Frazee.
  • 2:02 p.m., Suspicious activity was reported along Merry Meadows Lane, Detroit Lakes, when it appeared someone had taken a package from a porch and left in a vehicle.
  • 3 p.m., Theft of a Browning pistol was reported from a residence along County Highway 46, Park Rapids.
  • 3:10 p.m., Possible fraud was reported to Becker County Human Services. An adult female from Detroit Lakes was believed to be wrongfully obtaining financial assistance.
  • 5:22 p.m., A white substance in a bag that also contained tinfoil and needles was found at a residence along 280th Avenue, Waubun. The items were turned over to the White Earth Police Department.
  • 8:17 p.m., Disorderly conduct was reported when an intoxicated male began making a scene at a business on Long Bridge Road, Detroit Lakes. The male was escorted out of the business.
